The Royal Palace, Bangkok, Thailand

The Royal Palace is a huge complex of residences, halls, and sacred shrines. It's construction was begun in 1782, and not only served as residence for the king, it was the seat of the government. Even though todays king does not live in the palace, it is still at the spiritual heart of the country.

Huge crowds of people flock to see this beautiful assemblage of spiritual monuments.

Tourists come in all forms here, including this group of military men. Offerings of flowers, food, and incense are given outside the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
